Sunlogin Remote (AweSun)

Sunlogin Remote is a remote desktop and remote control app from the Chinese developer Oray, sold outside mainland China under the name AweSun by AweRay. It suits home users, small offices and technicians who need to reach PCs and Android phones from anywhere; most people looking for a Sunlogin remote control download today will end up with the AweSun client.

The free plan covers everyday remote control, file transfer and mobile access, while paid plans raise frame rate, image quality and device features for gaming, design and business use. Help a user with a one-off problem

1. Ask the user to install and open AweSun on their PC.
2. The user reads out the Device ID and the verification code shown in the main window.
3. Enter both on your side and connect.
4. For extra safety the user can enable two-factor authentication access in settings; then every request made through the Device ID needs their consent, even if you already have the code.

Set up unattended access to your own machines

1. Install AweSun on the host and sign in with your AweSun account so the device appears in your device list.
2. Turn on the unattended access option and choose how it is protected: the host’s Windows or macOS system account, or a separate strong password.
3. Use the anti-harassment settings to block unwanted connection requests (IP blacklist) or disable connections by Device ID entirely if you only connect from your account.
4. Keep the host awake (disable sleep in power settings) and connect later from the device list on any signed-in client.

Audit old Sunlogin installs

1. Old Sunlogin versions before 11.0.0.33 contain remote code execution flaws (CNVD-2022-10270 and CNVD-2022-03672) that have been used to plant malware such as Sliver, Gh0st RAT and XMRig miners.

3. Remove or update any outdated build, and remove the client entirely from servers that do not need it.

Install and first run

Windows. Separate 64-bit and 32-bit installers, plus an ARM build that currently lags behind (16.0.1). Installation needs administrator rights so the service can run at the login screen and handle UAC prompts.

macOS. Separate Intel and Apple silicon builds. Grant Screen Recording and Accessibility in System Settings > Privacy & Security on the Mac you want to control, otherwise you will see a black screen or be unable to use the mouse.

Android. There are two apps: the control app (to control other devices) and the host app (to let your phone be controlled). The host app needs screen-capture and accessibility permissions.

iOS. The iPhone and iPad app controls other devices.

Network. The client connects out to the AweSun service, which brokers the session; it tries a direct P2P path first and falls back to forwarding servers. Strict corporate firewalls or proxies can force the slower forwarded mode, so test from the networks your users actually work on.

Limitations

• The free plan is capped at 30 fps and 1080p; smoother sessions and some features require a paid plan.
• Connections are brokered by the vendor’s servers in the Oray/AweRay ecosystem; there is no self-hosted option in the standard product, which may not fit compliance rules in some organisations.
• The Chinese Sunlogin and international AweSun editions have separate websites and apps, which causes confusion when following guides.
• The history of exploited vulnerabilities in old builds means it needs active patch management.
